Since he first started playing as soloist at the age of 16, his great sensitivity and connection with the audience through the emotion and honesty with which he approaches the music have made David Barona an exceptional cellist, one of the most outstanding of his generation. A versatile musician, he excels as a soloist with orchestra, in chamber music and as a recitalist with a repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary.

He has offered concerts in Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Bulgaria, Belgium, Portugal and Latin America in renowned halls such as Musikverein in Vienna, Auditorio Nacional de España, Auditorio de Zaragoza, Auditorio de Castellón, Palau de la Música de Valencia, Teatro Monumental de Madrid, Sala Ma Cristina in Málaga, Gran Teatro del Liceo and Auditorio de Galicia, amongst others.Conductors of the standing of Juan Luís Martínez, Sergio Alapont, Miquel Rodrigo, Rolando Prusak, Arturo Tamayo or Constantino Martínez have had David as a soloist in orchestras like Orchestra of Valencia, Camerata Aragón, Symphonic Orchestra of Albacete, the Young Orchestra of de Castellón and Band of the Music Conservatory of Aragón among others.

He has made records as a soloist for some record companies like World Wind Music, Solfa-Recordings, Onda Cero and Irischart.
